General Manager – Independent Car Sales
Location: Wolverhampton
Salary: £50,000 basic | £100,000+ OTE
Contract: Full-time (42.5 hours per week, including weekends)
Driving licence required

This is a senior leadership role with full responsibility for overseeing branch operations, driving performance, and leading a high-performing team in a busy and competitive automotive sales environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take full ownership of the branch’s performance, customer satisfaction, and profitability

  • Lead, manage and develop the sales and operational teams to consistently deliver business objectives

  • Achieve volume, revenue and profit targets

  • Oversee stock presentation and inventory management, ensuring optimal stock turn

  • Monitor key KPIs and implement data-driven improvements

  • Maintain high standards across the customer journey, from initial enquiry to aftersales care

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards

  • Foster a positive, accountable, and performance-focused team culture

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior management role within the automotive retail sector

  • Demonstrable success within a high-volume dealership or car supermarket environment

  • Strong leadership, organisational, and decision-making skills

  • Commercially astute with the ability to manage both sales and operational performance

  • Excellent communication and team-building abilities

  • Proficient in the use of CRM systems and performance tracking tools

  • Customer-centric approach with a commitment to service excellence
